Community Standards

Membership

To be in the community you must be working for a social good nonprofit, or between jobs at social good nonprofit organizations. Moderators and admins will be on the lookout for anyone not and will react. There is an application process to join the community located here. If a member transitions to for profit role, they must leave the community, but not our hearts. đź’š

If SPLC or ADL designates your organization as a hate group, no entry. If you joined and we missed it, we’ll refund you.

Memberships are by individual because we share sensitive information. Memberships are not transferable to other individuals regardless of who pays for the subscription.

There is no long-term contract, unless you want to switch to the yearly membership after you fall in love.

Organizational discounts are available. Email community@turnkeyforgood.com.

How We Communicate

In the Community we protect relationships by using Gestalt Language Protocol. There’s an entire post and video about this. We highly recommend you review before interacting with the community. It could get weird if you don’t. Seriously. For the alumni, you’ve been doing this forever and we know you’ll lead the way.

Protect Yourself and Each Other

This is Vegas! If you are in an Alongside Group or at a Convening, or even in a discussion area, keep things other people “say” in the space you read it, or where you heard it if you were live. If you hear or read it here, keep it here. If you hear it at a Convening, keep it there. There is only one person with whom you can talk about what you hear: the person who said it. Breaking confidentiality gets people bounced out of the community. Be sure not to share information you are not authorized to share. For more in-depth information see our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.

About Alongside Groups

If you commit to an Alongside Group, don’t just show up when you need help. Show up because someone else might need your help. Being present is everything. Three misses in a year from Alongside Virtual Group without HUGE reasons, we will likely suggest a different way to participate.

You can switch groups due to role, fit, timing. Email community@turnkeyforgood.com for help on this.

Alongsides are all facilitated by a trained Gestalt facilitator. Typically, this will be a Turnkey employee, but we have quite a few community members who have become experts. Sometimes they fill.

About Convenings

If you are invited to and commit to a Convening, show up and be present to focus on the people you are there with. Each Convening experience costs around $2500 per person. Turnkey covers that as part of the cost of doing business as a consultancy because at Convening, we learn, we grow relationships, and our community gets help. If you commit and cancel late, Turnkey spends the money anyway. Even worse, your chair is empty. What you could have brought to others won’t happen. What they could have given you won’t happen. And the person that might have been in that chair doesn’t get or give help either.

Cancelling on a Convening inside of a two-month window twice without a HUGE reason...is a bad thing.

Who Made the Standards?

Many community members over the years have worked with us to form our standards. Some of them serve on our Community Advisory Board. The Turnkey For Good people who build and nurture the community are here.
